Supporting our community
Our goal is to be an engaged and active contributor that gives back to the communities in which we operate. We value our connections with our local communities and appreciate having the opportunity to give back, through our pro-bono work, donations, fundraising and sponsorship initiatives. We are also proud of our long-standing support of the arts.
Recognising the challenges faced by disadvantaged and low-income individuals in accessing legal advice, we support our communities by providing pro-bono legal services with the same commitment and quality as our commercial work.
We offer our services either free of charge or at a significantly reduced fee, treating pro-bono hours with the same value as billable work. This approach not only aligns with global best practices but also fosters a culture of participation and reflects our belief in using our legal expertise to make meaningful contributions to society.
By engaging in pro-bono work, we aim to make a genuine difference. Some community organisations and not-for-profit groups we have supported include Everybody Eats, Bellyful New Zealand Trust, NZ Claims Resolution Service, Aviva, Lighthouse Vision Trust and the Sir John Kirwan Foundation Board.

Anthony Harper was the founding sponsor of Auckland's Pop-up Globe, supporting it from its inception in 2016 until its last season in New Zealand in 2019/20.
Offering audiences a taste of Shakespeare's plays in an authentic setting, the Pop-up Globe performed over 1200 shows, bringing Shakespeare's work to life for a new generation.
The collaboration between Anthony Harper, the Pop-up Globe, and the Auckland Law School led to the creation of the Pop-up Moot, an innovative event blending legal debate with theatrical performance, as actors re-enacted legal arguments from Shakespearean plays.
